Some sound cards or USB devices do not have a way to monitor the live recording. If you can't hear yourself or whatever you are recording, you can use Mixcraft to play the source recording during recording by monitoring the recording.
Click the Monitor option on the armed track. Note that you may need to find the right balance between latency and non-gapping audio.
