Acoustica MP3 To Wave Converter PLUS
Version 2.33
Updated!

This is the latest update to the program we call "the little engine that could".  In addition to converting between MP3, WAV and WMA files, it now allows you to right click on a single folder and automatically convert the folder and subfolders into a specific audio format.

To use the new feature, simply right click on a folder and select the option that says "Convert this folder's audio files to" and then select MP3, WAV or WMA from the drop down.

This is a free upgrade for those that have already purchased an earlier version of the software.

Convert all the MP3, WMA or WAV files you want.  $19.95.

Download a Spiral CD Art Pack for Acoustica CD Label Maker

Mesmerizing, beautiful spinning CDs. It's only a few clicks away.

If you have an open faced CD player such as the Sony CMT-EX1  (pictured on the left) you are able to see the CD spin while it is playing.

We thought it would be a pretty cool idea to create a special spiral pattern to produces the effect of moving down a tunnel.

Some of it the labels turned out cool!  I went ahead and took a basic pattern in one color and propagated it to multiple colors so that you could create a themed set of CDs.  For example, you could create a workout CD, dance CD, study CD, relaxing CD, romantic CD, all color coordinated.  :)  It'll make all your friends think you are "sick". ;-)  ("Sick" means 'cool' or 'groovey' for those that aren't up on the latest slang.)

Download the Spiral Art Pack here. (1.2 MB)
Download contains 18 different spirals.

(After downloading, execute the installer "Acoustica-Spiral-Art-Pack-Installer.EXE".  Note that you'll need to have already installed Acoustica CD Label Maker on your machine. Acoustica CD Label Maker can be downloaded here. )

If you'd like to create your own CD labels from scratch, here's what I did.

  1. Load up a paint program, such as Jasc's Paint Shop Pro.

  2. Create a new image.  Make sure it's 709 pixels high x 709 pixels wide.

  3. Draw something in the middle.

  4. From the "Image" menu, select "Deformation" and then select "Twirl"

  5. Set the twirl to -720 or so and click OK

There you go: Your own spiral art work! :)

Creative uses for your old, scratched or unusable CDS
From the WorldWise website we found some uses for those old CDs you can't use or don't care to listen to anymore. :)
  • Drink coasters -- Buy a small piece of corkboard from a craft store, cut four 1 x 1 inch squares and glue them to the printed side of the CD. Leave the shiny side up as your coaster. You can also use the pre-gummed felt circle table protectors instead of the cork.
  • Candle holder -- Place the CD under large pillar candles to catch the wax.
  • Disco ball -- Cut up a CD into 1/2 inch squares and glue them to the outside of a ball. Hang the ball from the ceiling and shine lights on it.
  • Bird chasers -- Hang CDs in your garden or even around your house. The shiny surface moving in the breeze will scare away birds.
  • Reflectors -- Use as reflectors on fence posts, bicycles, driveways, or anywhere you want to call attention to something in the dark.
  • Garden Row Markers -- Write the name of the vegetable with a permanent marker on the CD-ROM. Cut the edges of each into a flower shape if you want. Glue or tack the CD-ROM to a stick and put in the ground to mark your garden rows.
