Text edit window

hmtoggle_arrow1 Editing Text

You can move the mouse cursor to any of the red squares.  This allows you to re-size the text object like a standard window.  The cursor will turn into a re-size arrow when you are over a red square and can re-size it.

You can move a text object by positioning the mouse on the red line of the text object.  The cursor changes to a hand which signifies that you can move it.

You can add a background color to the text object.  This can be helpful for viewing text over high contrast images.

Text background is around 70% opaque

Change the text color or background color, as well as the "Opacity".  The opacity is how solid the color is.  By moving the "Opacity" slider, you are moving from transparent to full solid color.

Note that if you have some text selected, moving the text opacity and colors will affect the selected text only.  (If there isn't a selection, it will affect all text.)

hmtoggle_arrow1 Font, Size & Color

The font, size and orientation properties can be changed on the toolbar near the bottom of the "Edit Text" window.

Edit the font and even add shadows

Highlight a portion of text and change just that specific text.  For example, in the above text, the "IS" was highlighted and changed to yellow.

Choose whether the text is left, center or right.  (Vertically and horizontally)

Choose a percentage % for your vertical and horizontal margins.

Text Masking

If this option is on, the background will bleed through where the text would have been.

Showing text mask option

Choose a text mask color.  This is the color that fills the non-text area.  In the above example, the text mask color is white.

Drop Shadow

Choose between Small, Medium and Large drop shadows.

hmtoggle_arrow1 Fade

On the "Fade" tab, you can choose to fade the text in and out.  Click either "Fade In" or "Fade Out" and then set the milliseconds for the fade.

1 second = 1000 milliseconds.

hmtoggle_arrow1 Motion

On the "Motion" tab, you can choose from some simple intro and outro text animation.

Types of animation

Move - Text moves in from a direction

Reveal - Text draws one character at a time from a direction.

This is the amount of time in milliseconds for the animation to complete.

1 second = 1000 milliseconds.
